Annual Report

The Dutchess Day School’s annual report comes out every year just as the school year is about to begin. The report provides updates on fundraising endeavors for the previous school year, including the annual fund, capital projects, faculty grants, special events, and other newsworthy items. It also contains articles about the past spring’s graduation, letters from the head of school and the annual fund parent chair, many photos of students and events, and an archival photo to bring back memories of the past. A special feature of the annual report is the “Why I Give” section in which members of our extended DDS family talk about why they give to the annual fund.

The Courtyard

The Courtyard started in the very early years of Dutchess Day School as a tiny newsletter mimeographed by someone in the school’s office and delivered by hand. Over the years, The Courtyard has become a magazine in its own right. It enlightens its readers with articles about the academic, arts, and athletic programs at Dutchess Day, news about our faculty and their endeavors, the alumni notes, a message from our head of school, often a feature article about, or by, an alum, and one written by a faculty member. Photos, fun facts, and the newsy up-to-date “Tunnel Talk” make the magazine fun and attractive. To get a feel for what goes on in the country schoolhouse on route 343, peruse The Courtyard, our primary publication.
"Here at Dutchess Day School everybody knows everyone. We have a lot of community meetings through the school with Monday Morning assemble and Friday assembly. The school believes sports are good exercise. I’m in soccer, golf and volleyball. The school believes it doesn't matter if you win or lose it just matters if you had fun."
