Support Dutchess Day School
Since the school opened its doors in 1955 in two rooms in a local inn, we have been blessed with a remarkable community of believers, supporters and fans. I’ve been a part of this school for 25 of those 58 years, as teacher, parent, and now director of development and alumni affairs. The school couldn’t find a bigger fan than I am. There is something about the white school with blue shutters and the iconic fencepost that pulls people in.
The support we receive from parents, faculty, staff, trustees, past parents, grandparents, alumni and friends is remarkable. Thank you for your interest in continuing the legacy today.
Every gift, of money, time, services or goods, makes a difference to Dutchess Day school. Continuous financial support from our constituents ensures that we can maintain the level of excellence for which we are known, in every aspect of life at school.
At DDS we are committed to providing the best education in the region, while attempting to keep tuition affordable. The annual fund is vital in allowing us to meet the growing costs of educating our students, as it directly supports our innovative programs.
Each spring, the parents association, working with the development committee of the board, coordinates a spring event to raise funds for a particular facet of our programs. This last spring, our Country Faire and Auction raised a record setting $135,151.
In 2009, we launched our formal planned giving society, The Tower Society. Sometimes such gifts go unrecognized because they come at the end of a donor’s life. The Tower Society provides a way for the school to recognize and thank those donors during their lifetimes.
I know firsthand what goes on inside the classrooms of Dutchess Day school, having spent 25 years of my DDS career inside them. What goes on: miracles big and small, lots of joyful learning, and full-throttle engagement by students and teachers. Gifts to DDS have a lasting impact on the learning experiences of our students. Please take a few moments to review the ways you can give and consider making your gift or pledge today.
