Parents
The Parents Association of Dutchess Day School is an organization of current parents and legal guardians that assists the Head of School on nonacademic matters and seeks to establish and maintain close cooperation among parents, students, faculty, administration, staff, and trustees in promoting the welfare of the school and its students.
SOS Heal Haiti:
SOS Heal Haiti is a project developed by two current DDS parents. Their goal was to create an age-appropriate vehicle for our children, and others, to both understand the tragedy in Haiti and assist the survivors of the earthquake there. Thus was born Schools Offering Support. With the help of friends and some local students, they have designed a car magnet that schools can sell through local PTAs, businesses and families.
DDS is proud to support this wonderful project. We understand that for some, the urgent need to support the Haitian Relief and Recovery Effort is no longer at the forefront of their mind, however this is truly just the beginning. With so much work still ahead for the Haitian people in rebuilding, it will take years to reestablish an organized society. The ongoing support from generous organizations throughout the world is crucial to their success.
Order forms are now available for download: SOS Magnet Order Form.
Please encourage your children to take part in the extraordinary project.
Fundraising at Dutchess Day School:
In keeping with the School’s Mission, “A talented and dedicated faculty maintains high academic standards within a balanced curriculum, challenging students to discover their unique strengths as well as their role in the global community,” the Dutchess Day Community values community service. Throughout the year, students, faculty and parents coordinate fundraisers to support both the school and the broader community. Below is a list of the various fundraisers and drives that will be organized by Dutchess Day School this year. While we do ask that families support the school's Annual Fund to the best of their abilities, we also want families to be aware of the other community service opportunities this year
