Two New Programs at Dutchess Day School

Dutchess Day School is pleased to announce that it is now offering a full merit scholarship for the upper school and an expansion of our preschool program.

For the 2012-2013 school year Dutchess Day is offering a full merit scholarship to a current fifth or sixth grade student, new to DDS in the fall of 2012, with excellent character and academic promise. Our small size allows our students to enjoy the rewards of individualized attention and to feel that they belong to an extended family. Our supportive environment encourages students to take risks, solve problems and express their ideas. Our students become articulate speakers, lucid writers and confident mathematicians. The school has a rich music and fine arts program, and competitive interscholastic sports. Applications for the scholarship, including a recommendation, essay on a topic provided with the application materials, and a current transcript, will be accepted until March 2, 2012.

The Lillian Goldman Preschool is an integral part of Dutchess Day School and the beginning of a Dutchess Day education. The school is happy to announce that it is now offering a 4-year-old extended day program for the 2012-13 academic year. Our regular program will continue to run from 8:30-12:30 with an option to extend the day until 3:15. At the core of the broad, child-centered program is the philosophy of learning through play. The curriculum focuses on the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of preschool children. It stimulates the imagination of each child by instilling an appreciation for natural curiosity about their world. The learning environment provides active, sensory and experiential learning centers and focuses on engaging each child's senses. Our expansive campus invites exploration and outdoor activities.
